Niger Delta Youth Congress: Daniel Bwala’s Loyalty Is to Power, Not the People

The Niger Delta Youth Congress (NDYC) has issued a statement condemning recent remarks by Daniel Bwala, a former aide to ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar. The NDYC described Bwala’s comments, which speculated on the possible departure of Defence Ministers Mohammed Badaru and Bello Matawalle from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, as baseless and inflammatory. The organization criticized Bwala, labeling him a political opportunist with a history of shifting allegiances for personal gain.

The NDYC emphasized the dedication of the Defence Ministers in maintaining national security, particularly in addressing challenges that began during President Buhari’s tenure. The group asserted that any issues between the Armed Forces are being managed by the appropriate authorities and are not suitable for political exploitation.

Furthermore, the NDYC urged the Defence Ministers to stay focused on their responsibilities and not be distracted by what it considers Bwala’s attempts to seek favor and relevance. The statement also advised President Tinubu to be cautious of individuals like Bwala, who, according to the NDYC, lack the loyalty and integrity necessary for public service.

The NDYC concluded by reaffirming its support for the Defence Ministers and calling on Nigerians to recognize and support those truly committed to the nation’s peace and security.
